Leanne Kate Suen Fa

Headhot of Leanne on a light background.

Leanne Kate Suen Fa (she/they) is a Mauritius-born Canadian UI/UX designer and creative developer and healthcare professional.

While they earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Université de Montréal in 2018, their interest in challenging mainstream ideas about service design in the healthcare sector led them to study design and its various applications to problem-solving, hoping to improve the experience of both patients and healthcare professionals alike. They are now completing their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design with a focus on web design at Concordia University while simultaneously working as a community pharmacist and occasionally as a hospital pharmacist at the Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal.

As a designer, they believe that technology’s potential to create more humane futures depends on the quality of its execution, i.e how well it is designed to enhance and empower users. As such, their practice focuses on design as a form of care for others and they are committed to creating unique human-centered digital experiences which bring people together and give a voice to underrepresented communities. They are interested, both as a designer and pharmacist, in issues like global aging, sustainability, accessibility and the impact of design and technology on health and scientific misinformation.
